Our Founder?

Mireille Valmé Espérance holds a Field Missionary License from the Vision Ministries International.  She is founder and President of Héritiers du Salut (Heirs of Salvation), a nonprofit faith based organization dedicated to Christian Service, Education and the rebuilding of several towns in Haiti destroyed by the January 2010 earthquake.  Mireille hopes to connect missions with the ministry locations in Haiti, primarily Léogane and Source Corossol.  Her life has been dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world.  Her current work involves Evangelism in Brooklyn, New York, youth camps, Campus Bible Ministry at the State University of New York, evangelism in Haiti and healthcare.

Sister Mireille has genuine love and pride for young people’s achievements and creativities which she hopes to transmit to the young generation of Brooklyn.  To this date, young people in the Flatbush Community, enjoy yearly activities co-sponsored by elected officials such as Assemblywomen Rhoda Jacobs and councilwomen Una Clarke.  Her juvenile delinquency prevention activities sponsored Sports weekends in collaboration with community group leaders.   Her Christian counseling activities, education, environmental safety, self empowerment and Christian living.  She also worked as a marriage counselor to young members of the Church communities.

Mireille was born in Haiti, the eldest of the late Haitian Evangelists Fernande and Hyppolite Valmé.  She immigrated to the United States in 1969 where her family settled in Brooklyn.  Continuing her  Christian calling during her studies and training as a registered nurse, in 1984, she founded a volunteer association “Haitian Christian Nurses Action”.  One of her proudest accomplishment is being the Founder, Coordinator and the Administrative Leader of the Foundation Fernande Valmé Ministries, Inc.  a foundation for community Christian action established by her late mother, Fernande Valmé.   In that capacity, to this date, she continues to hold a yearly Health Fair for the Haitian Community of Brooklyn. Sister Mireille graduated from Long Island University in 1984, with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science.   She is fluent in French, English and Haitian Creole. Sister Mireille’s family is the reflexion of her Christian beliefs.  She is the wife of Rev. Serge R. Espérance and is the blessed mother of three children, Pastor Serge R. Jr., Deborah E. Désir, and Joed S. Espérance. She is the proud grandmother of six grand children who are being raised devout Christians.

Haitian Born Rev. Serge R. Espérance, son of the late Mrs. Julia Damus Odelien and Rev Joel Joseph Espérance, replicated a long term family commitment to teach and spread God’s message across the Caribbean, in Haiti and in the Haitian American communities of Brooklyn, and Upstate New York.  He has been a resident of the US since 1973.Rev. Espérance sees his ministry as a lifelong dedication to the teaching the Word of God.  His proven skills in various methods of evangelism have furthered the purpose and willingness he has for developing discipleship.  His experience as a trainer enables him to enhance and promote outreach to the non-evangelized community.  His pastoral experience encompasses preaching the Word of God; Conducting/Officiating weddings, funerals, special events while directing all evangelical outreach activities and training for lay evangelism.  In addition, Pastor Espérance also launches monthly evangelistic campaigns in collaboration with local churches.He is currently the Senior Pastor of the New Creations Church of God in Christ, in Brooklyn, NY.  His past ministries include being the Assistant Pastor at the Evangelical Fisher’s of Men Church, Brooklyn, NY and Pastor in Charge of the Church of Bellaire, in Bizoton, a suburb of Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  He has served as Overseer of the Evangelical Churches of Fort-de France, Martinique and Professor of Bible Study at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary.A member of the Haitian Evangelical Clergy Association Overseas He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Heirs of Salvation, Inc. a non-profit development organization dedicated to the evangelization and rebuilding of Haiti.  He is the Mission Director for the organization’s project sites in Haiti, namely Léogane and Source Corossol.

Rev. Espérance and his family are faithfully dedicated to their mission.  He is married to Mireille Valmé, RN, Founder and President – Heirs of Salvation, Inc.- Their children Serge Robert, Jr. Deborah Desir and Joed Espérance are committed to promoting outreach and discipleship with their parents and spouses in the Community.  Six grandchildren continue to bask in the family tradition.

Pastor Espérance, an ordained minister since 1972, is a graduate of the Lycée Toussaint Louverture in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and the Theological School Eglise de Dieu de la Pentecôte, (Pentecostal Church of God) at Delmas, Haiti.
